Mount the pump on bench or table by means of mounting bolts and nuts as shown in the figure.
Pour the hydraulic fluid into the reservoir. Mount the master gauge and pressure gauge on the unions by using proper adapters adjust to face you by swiveling the unions as shown in fig.2(b). Open the needle valve & let the required quantity of hydraulic fluid to flow into the cylinder & lock the needle valve. Generate the pressure into the circuit by screwing in pressure screw. To release the pressure, unscrew it.
The comparison test pump requires periodic cleaning. For cleaning the pressure cylinder unscrew the cylinder nut from the cylinder body by using proper spanner as shown in fig. 4(a).Pull out the rubber bush assembly from the cylinder.

Unscrew the cylinder bolt as shown in the fig. 4(b).

Clean the cylinder bore using kerosine wetted swab as shown in fig. 4(c). Ensure that the cylinder bore is not scratched.

Clean the orifice of unions & pressure manifolds by using thin gauge wire as shown in the figure 4(d).

Over a period of time the rubber bush wears out. To prevent leakage from the side walls of rubber bush, apply pressure on the rubber bush by tightening the pressure nut as shown in fig. 4(e).Replace the rubber bush if it is found damaged.
